Fire in an eleven-storey building - major alert in St. Ingbert

Numerous people evacuated

St. Ingbert - On Monday evening, a fire broke out in an eleven-storey residential building in St. Ingbert, Saarland. As a result, numerous people had to be evacuated. According to initial information from the police, there were no serious injuries.

Major operation by the fire brigade

At around 7:30 p.m., the fire brigade was alerted to the fire in Dudweilerstrasse. According to a police spokesman, around 60 firefighters were deployed to the scene. The fire had apparently broken out on a balcony on the fifth floor for reasons that are still unknown and spread to the sixth floor.

The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire after about an hour. The extent of the damage is still unclear. The police have started investigations into the cause of the fire.
