FC Dordrecht and SC Cambuur share points in an entertaining 1-1 draw

Maikel Kieftenbeld strikes for Dordrecht, Henk de Jong equalizes for Cambuur

Dordrecht remains in the bottom three, Cambuur stays in the middle of the standings

FC Dordrecht and SC Cambuur shared the spoils in an entertaining 1-1 draw in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie on Friday evening.

Maikel Kieftenbeld gave Dordrecht the lead in the first half, but Henk de Jong equalized for Cambuur after the break.

The result leaves Dordrecht in 19th place in the standings, while Cambuur is in 12th place.

Match summary

Dordrecht started the match brightly and took the lead in the 15th minute through Kieftenbeld.

The midfielder fired home from close range after good work from Amahl Pellegrino.

Cambuur responded well to going behind and created several chances of their own.

However, they were unable to find an equalizer before the break.

The visitors continued to press for an equalizer in the second half and were rewarded in the 65th minute when De Jong headed home from a corner.

Both teams had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but neither could find a winning goal.

"We're disappointed not to win the game," said Dordrecht coach Michele Santoni.

"But we played well and created a lot of chances.

"We're still in a difficult position in the standings, but we're confident that we can stay up.

"We have a good team and we're fighting for every point."

"We're happy with a point," said Cambuur coach Henk de Jong.

"We knew that Dordrecht would be a tough opponent, but we played well and deserved a point.

"We're still in the middle of the standings, but we're confident that we can finish in the top half of the table.

"We have a good team and we're working hard to improve."
